Xylan™

Xylan is one the widest ranges of fluoropolymer coatings available within the fluoropolymer coatings global market. When compared to traditional fluoropolymer coatings, Xylan coatings are unique because of their properties which are designed to meet particular requirements for surface treatment. These materials are frequently used, because they combine low coefficient of friction lubricant like properties and the latest high-heat-resistant polymers properties.

Unique properties:

  • Very low coefficient of friction down to of 0.02
  • High abrasion resistance even at high pressures
  • Exceptional corrosion and chemical resistance
  • Excellent resistance to external conditions - sunlight, salt water, technological fluids
  • resistance within a wide range of operating temperatures – od -250°C ÷ +285°C
  • flexible range of curing temperatures – 150°C ÷ 430°C
  • coatings suitable for additional forming of coated parts (flexibility)
  • coatings suitable for additional processing of coated parts (strength)
  • excellent adhesion to various substrates (steel, plastics, ceramics, wood, rubber, etc.)

Xylan coatings consist of three basic compounds:

  • Polymer based binder – contributes to the strength, excellent adhesion of film and protects softer low friction compounds
  • Solid low friction compounds – low friction and non-stick properties
  • pigments and fillers – colour and additional improvements to required properties

All compounds are stirred into a solvent or water to form easily applicable solution based coatings suitable for spraying or dip–spinning application method.

Applications:

A. Low friction – coefficient of friction down to 0.02 within a wide operation temperatures range -260°C÷+285°C
(compressor rotors, pistons, plain bearings, screw connections, safety belt guides, valve plug, etc.)

B. Wear resistance – under various parameters (PV, temperature, pressure)
(rotors and mountings, non-stationary guides, telescopes, gears, valves, needle bearings, etc.)

C. Non-stick
(moulds for rubber parts, copier rollers, carburettor shafts, welding plates, baking / food industry, etc.)

D. Corrosion Protection
(fasteners, mining technology, chemical industry equipment, etc.)

E. Noise Reduction
(seats components, fans bearings, etc.)

F. High temperatures resistance

G. Sealing properties at high pressures (mining technologies)

H. Dielectric Properties / Conductive Coatings
